Tata Motors has rolled up its sleeves and is playing the fuel efficiency card again. After the launch of the Indica eV2, next up on the cards to be launched by Tata Motors is Indigo e-CS VX a saloon that claims to be the most fuel efficient in sedan segment. Tata Indigo E-CS VX provides a mileage of 25 kmpl which is certified by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India ) . Tata Indigo E-CS VX price with the fuel injected petrol motor (both engines being BS4 compliant) is tagged at Rs. 497,727 while the CR4 diesel is priced at Rs. 580,339 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Both these engines are compliant with BS4 emission norms.

Tata Indigo e-CS VX specifications reveals that it is powered by 1396 cc CR4 common rail diesel motor which produces a power of 69 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.2 kgm at 1800-3000 rpm. The overall weight of the car has been reduced by around 10 kg and improvements have been made to the gear ratios all of which result in the e-CS' astounding mileage figure! Changes have also been made to the ECU, which is now optimised for fuel efficiency. Apart from the mechanical changes, some cosmetic changes in the form of redesigned wheel arches, a satin finish front grille, head-lamps and ORVMs with blinkers sum up the changes made to the e-CS. Lastly, the e-CS has 14" alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres which provides extra bit of efficiency. The main competitors of Mahindra XUV 500 are Toyota Fortuner, Honda CRV, Skoda Yeti, and Tata Aria. Mahindra XUV 500 will be launched in India and South Africa but Mahindra and Mahindra has also planned to launch the car in other car markets too.

Toyota Launch Etios twins diesel on September 9

Just six more days and Toyota Etios diesel and Toyota Etios Liva diesel will make a grand appearance in its launch. The twin launch has generated a huge amount of curiosity among the car enthusiasts. Diesel cars are pacing with a steady speed in the Indian market as petrol prices do not seem to negotiate with user's pocket.

Toyota Motors are on their heels to bring the diesel variant of both the cars on September 9. With 1.4 litre 75 bhp fixed turbo geometry engine giving an excellent mileage of 21 kmpl that promises fuel economy on part of both the cars. Etios twins are likely to come with a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The launch is strategically planned around this time of the year to attract a large chunk of buyers in market. With the backlog for the Maruti Swift delivery of over 4 months and Honda Motor’s lack of diesel vehicle line-up, Toyota Motors has timed it perfectly to make an impact in the Indian car market with the launch of Toyota Etios twins in the diesel variants.

Toyota Etios Liva, a hatchback has completed two months in Indian market but the car has performed sadly may be because of the availability of petrol variant only. To add the grief Maruti India launched new version of Swift hatchback and Honda brought Jazz into the Indian market to compete with Toyota Etios Liva. Toyota Etios diesel will replace the sedan Toyota Etios currently being tagged in range of Rs 4.99 to 6.97 lakh (ex-showroom price). The earlier mileage of this car was a mere 17.6 kmpl. It is evident that the company has worked hard to get its cards right on the top. So lets see if Japanese auto giant can draw the ball in its court this time.

Renault launch Koleos on September 8

Renault will inaugrate the the launch of new cars this month by revealing its SUV, Renault Koleos on Thrusday. The french auto major Renault will launch its second car, the first being Renault Fluence launched on May 23 this year, after parting ways with Mahindra and Mahindra. Since then both the companies were working on a new SUV. While Mahindra is set to launch XUV 500 later this month, Renault is ready with its Koleos to be launched on 8th September.

Renault Koleos has already spread its word globally since 2008 and now with its facelifted desiel only variant, Renault Koleos crossover SUV will hit Indian roads for the first time. Renault is also looking frward for the launch of 4 new cars till the end of 2012. A range of Rs. 16-18 lakh is speculated to be the Renault Koleos price range. Koleos features comfortable interiors with leather upholstery to keep intact the sporty look. Along with this Cruise controls, Bose surround Music system and speed limiter is provided with the SUV. A 2 litre Dci 1995cc Euro IV engine exhibiting 150 bhp power is combined with six-speed automatic gearbox in order to transmit power to the wheels at every gearshift.



Renault Koleos also has twin hatchback door design that imbibes in it the capacity of a larger luggage space. The upcoming Renault Koleos is claimed to be loaded with most of the standard a few advanced safety features including Anti-lock Braking system with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution system (EBD), airbags, front fog lamps, all disc brakes, parking sensors, as expected of an SUV. One Million cars recalls by Honda

The company is recalling 936,000 cars worldwide from its Fit and CR-V lines to replace the master switch for the cars' power windows. A design flaw can allow residue from window cleaners to accumulate, which over time can degrade the switch's electrical contacts and potentially cause a fire. No injuries have been reported from the problem, which affects 80,111 cars in the United States from the CR-V's 2006 model year.

Honda (HMC) is also recalling cars from its CR-Z compact hybrid line that are equipped with a manual transmission. A software bug could allow the motor, under some conditions, to rotate in the opposite direction from the transmission's gear -- allowing the car to, for example, roll backwards when the transmission is in forward gear. No injuries have been reported. Honda plans to fix the problem with a software upgrade. The recall affects 26,000 vehicles worldwide, including 5,626 cars in the United States.

This is the second major recall for Honda in recent weeks, and a further setback for the Japanese carmaker as it struggles to recover from a run of bad news and sluggish sales. Honda recalled 1.5 million cars in the U.S. in early August to fix a transmission issue, and drew a scathing Consumer Reports review for the 2012 model year of its ultra-popular Civic compact car.
